Who is Growing?

Despite a bit of a lull for the summer, WiscNet member bandwidth increases are moving along at a rapid pace. There have been 59 since May 2008 with a number more scheduled throughout August. This represents a 50% increase above the number of bandwidth increases over the same time period in 2007. A number of folks waited to increase their bandwidth until after July 1st so that they could take advantage of Grow Smart. We’ll likely see many more folks jump on the Grow Smart bandwagon once school starts. A few highlights…

Rice Lake School District increased their bandwidth from 3 to 100Mbs.
Milwaukee Messmer Catholic Schools and Campbellsport School District increased their bandwidth from 5 to 50Mbs.
City of Madison/Dane County increased their bandwidth from 25 to 100Mbs.
City of Eau Claire increased their bandwidth from 10 to 100Mbs.
Northeast Technical College increased their bandwidth from 30 to 45 Mbs
Marian University will soon increase their bandwidth from 10 to 30Mbs.
Mid State Technical College increased their bandwidth from 10 to 100Mbs.
City of Beloit increased their bandwidth from 1.5 to 10Mbs.
More folks have joined the list of members who have increased their bandwidth at least twice since the onset of the BCN. Among these are: Beloit School District, Waterford Graded School District, Waterford Union High School and Tomahawk School District.
A study of circuit providers available to Public School Districts in the State found that both Rural and Urban Schools frequently have more than one circuit provider available to them. Seventy-Five percent of the 428 Districts studied have 2 different WiscNet connected circuit providers in their area. Many of the remaining Districts have 2 different circuit providers in their area, one which is directly connected to WiscNet, and a second one that may connect to WiscNet via a business partner.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
